Drawn Arc 2000 Range of Equipment

Drawn Arc, DA stud welding is a method of fixing a metal fastening element onto a work piece. Generally the fastening element is in the form of a stud although this is not always necessary.

• A weld takes place by generating a pilot arc to melt the weld end of the fastening.
• A molten pool of metal is formed into which the stud is pressed.
• A ceramic ferrule contains the molten metal to shape the weld fillet. 
• The consistency of welds is excellent.
• Drawn Arc is the only method of stud welding large diameters.
• Studs can be welded through parent material imperfections such as light rust, scale and grease.
• Very slow penetrative welds are achieved with this process making it ideal for heavy duty applications.
